FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

How do I get a marriage license?
If you are a state of Maine resident, you should get your license in the city you reside in regardless of the city or town where you’re getting married. If a non-Maine resident, you can get it in any city in the state, but preferably in the city where you are getting married. Florida laws are the same. The license is generally good for 90 days. I will then sign and file your license for you after the ceremony.

What are the travel fees?
Travel is included with ceremonies that take place within a 10 mile RT radius from Bangor, Maine or Sarasota, Florida. Ceremonies outside of a 10 mile RT radius will be subject to an additional charge and will depend on travel time and mileage. This also pertains to travel to the rehearsal. Travel to Acadia National Park is $250-$300 depending on location within the park. Lynn is available to travel within 35 mile radius of Sarasota, Florida.

Can we write our own vows?
Yes! I encourage you to write your own vows. This is a great way to make your ceremony more personal.

Can my children or other guests be involved somehow in my ceremony?
Absolutely. Often times special vows are written to include family and children. For example, readings, prayers, poetry, are all welcomed to complete your ceremony.
